The Genoa Cake and Rich Fruit Cake Championship has been won by Mrs McDonald from Port Lincoln.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO THIS SECTION:

1. Children 6 years and under may decorate purchased or home baked biscuits.

2. PRIZES for all classes will be: FIRST $5.00, SECOND $3.00.

3. Exceptions for prizes: Class 9 - FIRST $25.00.

NOTE TO EXHIBITORS: Please take note of the exact size and specifics of what you are asked to exhibit, as points will be deducted for not complying. Should you go on to higher shows, such as the Royal Adelaide Show, you will note this is a priority with the judges.

CLASSES

Open

1. Loaf of bread made in bread making machine.

2. Collection of biscuits, three distinct varieties - dropped, forced and cut - two of each variety.

3. Banana cake, log loaf tin, top only iced.

4. Sultana cake, 20cm square tin.

5. Cream puff shells, four only, uncut.

6. Chocolate sponge sandwich, 20cm tin, plain.

7. Boiled fruitcake, not diabetic, 20cm square tin.

8. Carrot and walnut cake, iced, loaf tin.

9. Best decorated modern special occasion cake.

10. Laucke CWA Scone Competition - Five savoury scones, approximately 5cm in diameter. (See further details below.)

Children 12-16 years

11. Four sausage rolls.

12. Six plain scones, using 5cm cutter.

13. Sponge sandwich, unfilled, 20cm tin.

14. Chocolate cake (not mud cake), top only iced, loaf tin.

15. Gingerbread house.

Children 7-11 years

16. Gingerbread person, edible decorations only.

17. Edible necklace, no pasta.

18. Large decorated cupcake.

Children 6 years and under

19. Two decorated plain sweet biscuits, edible decorations only (eg. Marie, milk arrowroot, coffee biscuits).

BAKING - Section BL - Laucke Scones

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO THIS SECTION:

PRIZES: FIRST: Laucke Goods Hamper (value approx $17); SECOND and THIRD: Laucke Country Women's Scone Mix (1.2kg, value approx $5.50).

Scones are to be made with Laucke Country Women's Scone Mix.

1. Best savoury variation of the nominated scone recipe using Laucke Country Women's Scone Mix (eg. zucchini and carrot, bacon and cheese, potato and olive, etc.)

2. Only one entry per person.

3. Entrants are only eligible to win one local final.

4. Winners from each local show will be eligible to enter and be judged at the nominated Association show.

5. The 10 Association winners will then compete in the State Final and will be judged at the 2017 Royal Adelaide Show.

JUDGING GUIDELINES

1. Five scones to be presented for judging.

2. Scones should be approximately 5cm in diameter.

3. Scones should be well risen with straight sides, a thin golden crust top and bottom, no flour base.

4. Scones will have a fine, moist texture, good crumb, good flavour and be according to type.

STATE FINAL:

The nine regional winners will be eligible to compete in the State Final held at the Royal Adelaide Show. State finalists will be required to cook their best sweet scone variation.
